Webflow and a managed build are closer than anything else on this list, and the difference is who is holding the tool. Webflow is a visual development platform with genuinely good managed hosting: zero maintenance, free SSL, a global CDN, and a CMS for structured content. It is what a lot of good agencies build on. The catch for a rental fleet is that Webflow sells you the workshop, not the work: somebody has to build the class page template, model the CMS collections for vehicles and locations, keep the content current, and write the articles. If you are hiring that person anyway, Webflow is a fine choice.
Read the middle column as what the other option gives a rental fleet, and the right column as what a managed build gives one. Anything in the middle column that is a statement of fact is sourced at the bottom of this page.
| What you are comparing | Webflow | RentalWebStudio |
|---|---|---|
| Page speed and Core Web Vitals | Can be very good. Depends on how the build is done and how heavy the interactions are. | Custom coded with a per page performance budget, held as the fleet grows. |
| SEO control | Comprehensive: per page titles and descriptions, alt text, Open Graph, canonical tags, redirects, sitemap controls, robots and schema. Several items note that a paid workspace plan is needed on a starter site. | The same depth, configured and maintained by us, generated per page from one source. |
| Structured data | Supported. Somebody has to write and maintain it for each template. | Generated from the page content for every page type, so it stays true after an edit. |
| AEO and GEO readiness | Webflow lists robots and LLMs file controls among its SEO features. The content strategy is still yours. | Answer first content, visible FAQs, llms.txt and llms-full.txt generated on every build. |
| Hosting and security | Managed, with no updates to run, free SSL and a global CDN. | Managed Cloudflare hosting with SSL, CDN and DDoS protection, in the monthly fee. |
| Who does the work | You, or the designer or agency you hire to drive it. | Us. There is no second invoice for the person who operates the tool. |
| Ongoing maintenance | Platform maintenance is handled. Content, CMS entries and new pages are yours or your agency's. | Included, with a stated turnaround on every change. |
| Content and blog | A capable CMS on the Premium site plan. The writing is a separate arrangement. | Researched articles written and published weekly to an agreed plan. |
| Design for a fleet | Anything you can design. Someone has to design it. | Already designed for this niche, then tailored to your fleet during the build. |
| Accessibility and policy pages | Achievable, and only if whoever builds it knows how. | Built in, with policy pages written for a rental business. |
| Cost model | Site plans plus workspace plans, plus the cost of the person building it. | One monthly fee including the people, plus a build fee invoiced after launch. |
| Ownership and lock-in | Code export on paid workspace plans, with CMS content excluded, forms broken on export, and no way to re import code. | Domain in your name, content and photography yours, transferred free on request. |
Written honestly. If one of these is you, we would rather you kept your money.
The cases where the difference is structural rather than a matter of taste.
If the site looks right and the only problem is that nobody keeps it current, the cheaper answer may be to hire help rather than rebuild, and we will say so on the call. If you do move, be aware of what Webflow documents about leaving: code export is available on paid workspace plans, dynamic CMS content has to be exported collection by collection and is not part of the main export, forms stop working on exported code, and exported code cannot be re imported into Webflow. In practice we treat it as a content migration: copy, photography and CMS entries come across, every old address is redirected to its closest match, and the Webflow plan is cancelled only after the new site is live and approved.

The reservation flow asks for the trip details we actually need. We reply with real availability on the first message instead of a back and forth that takes two days.

Having a page for each pickup counter changed how we show up in search for the areas we actually serve, instead of one page trying to cover all of them at once.

They are answers to different questions. Webflow is the best in class tool for building and hosting a site; a managed service is the tool plus the people who use it every week. If you already have the people, Webflow wins. If the reason your current site is two years out of date is that nobody has time, a tool does not solve that.
No. Webflow describes the Basic site plan as being for simple sites that do not need a CMS, with the CMS arriving on the Premium site plan, and the free Starter plan carrying a limited CMS and only two static pages. For a fleet with a vehicle collection and a blog, price from the CMS tier upward.
Partly. Webflow states that code export is available on paid workspace plans, that dynamic CMS content is not included in the export and has to be handled collection by collection, that forms stop working on exported code, and that exported code cannot be re imported into Webflow. It is more portable than some platforms and it is not a clean lift and shift.
Because it has two axes. Site plans are per published site, and workspace plans cover the people building them, so a single monthly figure rarely captures the total. Then add whoever builds and maintains it. Our monthly fee includes the hosting, the build and the people, which is why we prefer comparing total monthly cost rather than platform cost.
We do not maintain sites on other platforms, because our speed target and turnaround commitment depend on controlling the stack. What we can do is migrate it: rebuild the content in a site we host and manage, and redirect every old address to its closest match.
It can be genuinely fast, and the hosting is good. Speed on a rental site usually comes down to the photography and the interactions rather than the platform, so a heavy Webflow build and a heavy custom build both get slow. The difference is who is responsible for keeping it inside a budget over time.
It comes across as content. Vehicle entries, locations and posts are rebuilt in the new structure, usually with more detail than they had, because the class page template asks for a specification block and a gallery order that most Webflow rental builds do not have.
Possibly, and it depends on what happens in month four. A freelancer build is usually cheaper up front and the risk is continuity. If you want the comparison laid out properly, we have written it: see the page on hiring a freelancer.
